Orange is the New Black

Happy Friday the 13th models!!!  Wow…it was not until I came in to post an update on the blog that I realized how long it has been since I put a new outfit post.  Guess that should be my New Year's resolution (if it isn’t to late to chose one); become more disciplined and consistent with blogging.  I just let life get in the way, but I always have it on my mind that I can put things on the blog.  I will work on finding a a consistent photographer - better known as a friend who won’t kill me for  making them take 100 photos of myself to only choose 5 for the blog.   Also I have been wanting to build a blogging calendar to stay organized on my ideas and what to post.  That being said I have a few outfits that I shot before the holidays even hit so we will start with those and move forward.

Sweater Twosie: ASOS // Shoes: Express// Bag: Old Navy // Necklace: J Crew Factory

I follow many bloggers for support as much for inspiration which is where this outfit spanned from.  Frankie of ASOS wore this in a casual way and I wanted to dress it up.  This 2 piece is very versatile I have worn the pieces separately, together layered or unlayered and even with tights.  The color may take some by surprise but you would be amazed at how complimentary it is with our skin tone or other pieces in your wardrobe. I know most people default to wearing black when it gets cold but colors liven things up for me in the gloomy fall and winters in NY.   Also, bucket bags made a come back this season and who was perturbed that they gave theirs away in the 90’s only to buy a new one?!  I was!  But it was on sale so it made me feel a bit better ;)

Valentine's Day Splurges

Ok so let's be honest - everybody will not have a Valentine.  It's life.  It's reality.  As adults we should all know life can just plain suck.  Though just because some people are paired off and spoiling one another does not mean you can't take the day to spoil yourself.  I sure will.  Throughout the year people show you how much they love and care for you on a daily basis - that should be a reason to celebrate in itself.  No man, no problem. Call your girls and have a girls night in (to beat the crowds of couples in the restaurants) order a pizza and light a candle and watch a movie.  Or if not just do it yourself to remind yourself how much you are loved and deserve to be spoiled.  Here are a few splurges to help inspire you!
